If you want cheap with many options just wait for Aldi/Lidl to have their next offer.
Usually has cd, mp3, usb etc

An Aldi/Lidl radio is going to be as good if not better than a cheap 'name' brand imo. I had one of their €70 bluetooth/mp3 ones 2 or so years ago and it was fine. Can't beat the 3 year warrantee.

Search 'silvercrest' or 'tevion' and a whole load of reviews will come up for the previous ones. In fact Aldi had one for €24.99 last week and some stores might still have some left see here

I got my boyfriend that jvc one before, its really good! I would recommend that over the takara on the basis that i have never heard of the name takara :o It was a really good radio tho, easy to use and easy to plug your ipod into it !

Excuse my ignorance, does a new car radio require much knowledge when fitting, or is it as simple as slide out slide in ?

It isnt as straight forward as that unfortuantly :( My bf had a 06 polo, he now has an astra tho! But when we took out the radio in the polo the new radio i bought didn't fit in the same, it was smaller, so there ended up being a big gap! We got a shelf fitted into it tho so the radio fitted in perfectly and we got an extra shelf for out bits and bobs, worked out handy! But if u are getting a radio make sure it fits where the old one did :o and it doesn't just slide in and out, we got our friends dad to rewire the back of it for us! Could do it urself tho but make sure u give yourself plenty of time :) the wires can be hasslesome!

If you didn't do it before than it may be not to easy, you've got to connect few wires but there is a lot of guides in web so you should do it, if you are not sure go to some mechanic and they should do it for free : )
