    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001NXPR74/ref=oss_product

however when I connected it up to the tv and sky box there was no picture or sound.

    Am I missing something?

Been there wore the t shirt.

This was covered a couple of years ago here by myself.

You wont get sound with that setup you will only get sound if you have external sound system and seperate cable to hook up. google your question too and you'll see.

Was going to upgrade tv later on in the year but may as well do it now.

Were HD ready tvs ever actually compatible with hd satellite tv?

yes, but it just seems yours is so old it doesn't have a HDMI input. Does your TV have any audio in sockets?

Yup, what additional lead would you recommend?

scart is the only way to go so:( (no hd)

you should get picture using the adapter though. did you set up the sky box to output via hdmi?

That's a good question, don't think so, how is that done?

I'm in the same suitation as the op, and won't be changing the telly anytime soon.

I have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the TV beside the DVI input, so would a phono to 3.5mm jack cable carry the sound along side the picture on the HDMI to DVI cable?

    Anyone running this set-up?

Off to source cables then so.

Off to source cables then so.

Cables got, installed, turned off the scart control on the Sky+HD box.

Took a bit of T.V. remote pressing to get the HD channel. All fine but I don't see much difference between the Scart and the HDMI/DVI cables.

    Anyway. Going slightly off topic..

Went to laod a DVD into the player which is connected with with a Scart into EXT2 on telly, yet telly (phillips 32' ) did not switch channel automatically. Can anyone help?
