I am VERY stuck on the "teachtaireacht riomhphost" or e-mail section. I just can't wrap my head around it! My teacher is so scary and I have already asked her 3 times yet she looks at me like I have two heads! I don't know what tenses to write in and I don't understand why the 3rd picture ( out of 4 ) is you writing the email? why are you writing the email before you go to that place or whatever the topic is about? If someone could lay it out with a short description on how to do them I would be of serious gratitude! I only got 2 out of 20 i think because I find it such a challenge.

    Many thanks :)

I'm looking at the 2010 paper here. The picture of you sending the email is probably to remind you that it is an email (in case the ríomhphost but sailed over your head) in the same way that the cárta poist shows you writing a postcard. The examiners want you to use past, present and future tenses. Explain what happened i.e. meeting your friends and accepting invitation (past). Explain what you're doing and give info about the party (present) and throw in the future tense about when you'll be back e.g. "Beidh mé ar ais ag a deich a clog".

Thank you to all who responded! I am still stuck though however :/

It's not one paper in particular it's the whole concept so I will try and explain my difficuilty as best as possible: Pretend the situation is (as I remember seeing a similar one somewhere in my p.p but don't have them to hand) That you were doing your homework and you got a call and you had to go shopping for your granny and then bring her the groceries. your mom will be back at 5 leave her a email.

So the 1st picture and hint would be to talk about what you were doing
then the 2nd picture that you got the call
THEN WHAT I'M STUCK ON: the 3rd picture that your writing the email
4th picture you have brought the groceries back to your granny

Why does the bit about you writing the email come first before you actually do the task? Or are you supposed to use future tense for picture 4 that you WILL go shopping?

    Many thanks!

It doesn't matter! You're focusing far too much on where they put one picture. Obviously, you tell the recipient what you were at, what happened and where you are going. The order doesn't matter as long as it's logical. Use the future to describe when you will see the person later ("Beidh me ar ais níos déanaí").

The above is dead right.... from what i can tell is your supposed to leave your mother an email informing her that you have gone to get dome groceries from Granny!

To me, i think that the four pictures are the whole scenario of whats going on - A bit like Step by step instructions!

So the 1st picture was that you were doing something
the 2nd picture that you got the call
the 3rd picture that your writing the email
4th picture you have brought the groceries back to your granny

See the full story and your supposed to do part three - write the email!

    :) hope i helped!
