It really is not easy to guess what you may get in JSA - it is a means-tested benefit and thus the amount applicable to each case varies.

You'll get less than €189 per week, but it could take months to get it as you have to get a Social welfare number.

You could get less than €101 per week, because of your age.

Go to the local office with everything you have, rent book, pass port, bills in your name bank statements.

if your only 18 your only going to get €100, tops.thats if you get anything at all. its not a case of how much you need. its far more complicated than that, the best of luck, i have a feeling your going to need it.:rolleyes:

You will also have to satisfy the Habitual Residence Conditions as you moved to Ireland in 2009. When you were employed as an au pair was your employer paying prsi contributions for you?

If you have National Insurance Contributions from the UK you can see if they will enough for you to apply for Jobseekers, but if you were working and earning a insurable income from a family member then you/they should have been paying PSRI for you each week... if not you cannot expect to get Jobseekers allowance when you have not contributed anything.

OP cannot have her contributions from uk credited in Ireland unless she has paid A class contributions in Ireland. The only advice I can give to OP is apply for jobseekers allowance, fill up the Habitual Residence form while you are waiting for these to be processed go to your local community welfare officer and apply for supplementary welfare allowance. The answer will either be yes or no to your application. It is unfortunate that you do not have a contribution record in Ireland as that would be one of the factors for Habitual Residence.

In answer to you off topic question. Im afraid your information is incorrect people from other EU/EEA countries cannot just get off the plane or boat in Ireland and get welfare payments.
