Need to find a tankini with support: Cork.

    Hi all.

I'm starting swimming lessons in two weeks time and need to find a swimsuit.
I have bikinis but I don't think they're appropriate attire for a pool, hence I'm on the find for a tankini. I find a tankini will be more practical as I will never wear an all in one swimsuit again.
Now the thing is I'm a size 8/10, but I'm a 32D so I'd feel bit self conscious going into a sports shop and buying a normal one off the rails. I need support!
I would be so so grateful if anyone out there knows where I could find a nice supportive tankini in Cork?
    Thanks in advance!

I know exactly how you feel! Even though I am only a C cup i don't feel right wearing swimming togs/bikinis etc without support.

I have noticed these days most of the shops have copped onto women needing support and have responded by selling the stock. They are generally more expensive. It is more unusual for a tankini to have a cup in it so you will have to look a little harder!

Here are some I found. They are quite expensive and may not be to your taste but at least you know they are available.

I know both Dunnes and Pennies do bikinis with a cup so it might be worth your while checking them out.
They generally have a full range for a print/style i.e. triangle top, bra top, tankini top, bikini bottom and boy pants shaped bottom. My sister buys the tankini top and matching bra and wears one under the other. Sorted!;)

    Hope this helps

If it's for swimming would an all in one jobbie not be more practical?

This, just get a good Speedo/Adidas/Tyr swimsuit and you'll be fine.

Yeah I didn't want to be a party pooper, but you really should buy a one piece. A tankini wouldn't really be suitable. They're more for sun bathing or having a splash about on the beach, not really swimworthy. A one piece will be easier to swim in and is more practical. Unless you manage to find an absolutely perfect one, a lot could go wrong. A one piece will stay tight against your body and keep your chest pressed in, whereas a tankini may cause drag, or worse, fill with air bubbles, getting all twisted etc. and even thin padding for support around your chest can act like a sponge. Especially that you're only learning, I'd invest in a good one piece if I were you. And don't worry what it looks like, you're there to learn a skill, no one will be thinking about fashion.

Right, all in one so then ye think! Just I was thinking that I'd never get the wear out of it and I would out of a tankini.
Anywho, even if it's an all in one I still need support. Wonder what's the best? I don't care what I look like. I just don't want my chest moving all over the place! :o

I have this one - something similar to that would be grand. I'm big up top too - size 12/34DD-E, and a sporty swimsuit just keeps the boobs pretty much mashed into place, which is what you want when you're actually swimming rather than just lying by the pool in the sun.

If you are a size 8-10, you would most likely be looking for a 32" or 34" size if you're ordering online, most likely the smaller one.
