New car syndrome + turbo + might need a service

    Is it standard or modified?

How they have been maintained is the most important thing. The don't take well to poor maintenance. They can get very noisy(tappety) if the correct oil hasn't been used.

Its very common for a small piece on the gear selector linkage to fail causing loss of some gears, happens on older evo's too.

Most service parts are easily available with a bit of cross referancing with other mitsubishi models.

They aren't going to be great on fuel as, even when off boost, they are a relitively small engine dragging around a 4wd system.

i had an evo 3 that crankwalked and lost alot of money on it!

dont believe the gsr 1.8s crankwalk but not 100 percent sure!

ya they are very heavy on fuel with the full time 4wd!

make sure your brakes arent sticking any bit costing you performance and fuel due to fighting brake resistance!
at 100kmh on straight long road put into neuteral and check for extreme and unatural deaceleration which is a good indication

thanks for the replies lads have it a few weeks now and only problems seem to be bushings which are always gonna wear on older cars, nightmare on petrol compared to the prelude, thinking bout going back to vtec as i just dont like the turbo, much prefer the high revving screamers :)
