The hydraulic pump for the front loader on my ford 6810 seems to be failing! any ideas on the price to get it repaired and would it cost a lot?

    Have a look here, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/hydraulic-parts-direct/hydraulic-pumps-/_i.html?_fsub=278844012&_sid=285022652&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

Haven't bought off them but they seem good value. Is it the main pump or the auxilliary (engine mounted) pump that is gone? Get back to me if the link doesn't work.

to be honest i don't no what pump is failing other than the fact that the front loader fails to lift silage bales to maximium height and the tractor itself shows no other problems in therms of power!:)

Don't know if this will help, I had that problem on my old 885, it was slow on the front loader, turned out is was manked up filters, my tractor boy cleaned em out and it was back to normal.

Ya, I'd change the filter first. I changed mine this year after all the cold weather and it solved the problem I had. The hydraulics would fail to operate after a while using them. Turned out it was ice that had condensed and the water got into the filter. It ruins the paper in the filter.

Also what kind of oil do you have in the hydraulics? Universal Farm Oil is a thicker oil than industrial type hydraulic oil and so will leak that bit more internally and so you wont have as much power (pressure) to lift.

Obvious question, but could the bales be that bit heavier than normal. There's a small line between been able to lift and not!
