It's strange o2 uk would get it and not IE, as I said in the other sensation thread I think the O2 forum mod was just looking at the coming soon page from o2.uk as they were the only phones she mentioned.

^ they don't know yet, according to a forum mod.

Was talking to a CPW salesperson (Citywest) this morning and asked about the HTC Sensation, he replied that Voda will get it in July with Meteor getting it a month later.

Yesterday CPW (Dundrum) told me Voda will get it in June with the other networks a month later.

He also mentioned (Citywest CPW) that HTC were having a Launch / Demo in Blanchardstown SC on the 13th and 14th May and that the Sensation will most likely be on show.

Either way if any boardsies go, they can chat to a HTC rep who should be able to have more accurate dates... :D

Hoping we won't be far behind...

HTC Sensation is now in the Coming Soon section of vodafone.ie. Doesn't give a date yet, but I'd imagine it's the 19th, like Vodafone UK or very soon after that.

Are you serious? So if thats the case is it only going to be offered to a select few because vodafone ireland havent announced an irish release date as far as im aware.

Seems to be alot of miscommunication on the vodafone uk forum as they are meant to be getting the first release in europe of the phone tomorrow and its looking like none of the preorders will get their phone til monday. Not sure of the stock in stores though.

All I can say is that I got a call offering an upgrade to the iphone 4. Wasnt happy with the price so they offered me a number of other phone, the HTC Sensation being one of them. She said they had a couple left and she could have it delivered this week.

    What plan and price please?

I spoke with three cs rep and he said that sensation will b available in two weeks...i need to get rid of desire hd soon...

Has anybody looked at buying an unlocked phone? Phonesonline.ie are charging €579.00 but Expansys have not released a price yet. I don't know if there are any other sellers out there.

I saw it at the HTC Roadshow in Blanchardstown and it really is the business!!!

I don't particularly fancy changing to Vodafone, but it's a consideration. What's their position on tethering. I do wireless tethering a fair bit on my current Hero.

Is it your first htc phone? Can you compare the loudspeaker to any other phone? How's the camera pictures looking, any chance of a sample? Also what size micro sd came with it/how much inbuilt memory?

the sensation is available over here????

grab it with both hands and run if they're offering you one. the gf still regrets getting the 3gs when she plays with my "old" desire.

    what are your concerns?

    Hey theteal,

Concerns, well Im so used to the iphone. Seems to be thousands of good apps, itunes for organising music, good battery life, etc.

Im very tempted though by it.

Vodafone have it in stock, but probably reserved to tempt switchers and/or retain existing customers.

a lot of the apps are similar if not the same as from the apple store - the games are really starting to catch up now too

usability-wise, generally it's quite similar to the iphone but with some extra functionality options i.e. there's a couple of extra buttons (menu, back etc), generally holding a finger on an item on screen will provide options, widgets on the home screens offer quick access to resources without having to go into the actual apps

battery on the sensation has yet to be seen but apparently a major benefit of this dual core stuff is battery life

as for itunes. . .i hate it. . .all my music is just in windows folders so i just drag and drop when transferring. i can't really allay your concerns on that one

i wish i was being offered a sensation :( (must keep my typing quiet, my desire will hear)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭whitelightrider

Itunes can and is a pain to use. I have all my music in folders and the ability to just drag and drop the songs you want would be a lot handier.

I think its just that Im used to the iphone and thats what worries me. Then again as one poster said, I can upgrade and if I dont like it I can sell it and buy another iphone.

Might be calling VF yet today!

Media Monkey is great for managing music, and will work with drag and drop.

    Hi eireal

Yes this is my first HTC, I had the Galaxy s and the iphone 3gs and this phone is way ahead. The loud speaker is actually good ( was on the phone to someone else on loud speaker ) the camera is unreal sooooo much better than the above and when compared to the iphone 4 its streets ahead.

Still trying to get my head around it and as this is my first HTC im not sure how to tell how much memory it has but if you want to tell me how to look I will gladly do it.

Thats an awful lot of money for a phone though,

I have a desire and dont know if i can justify the upgrade just yet!

It's either buy the Sensation or try and root my Desire. I have run out of space to install apps, very annoying!
