    Hi,

I'm looking for some assistance in planning a cycling route from Dublin city to Lugnaquilla Mountain. I'm looking for the easiest and quickest route possible.

At the moment I'm looking at 2 possibilities:
    1. Going through Killakee and over Sally Gap
    2. Going through Enniskerry and Roundwood

Scenery is not really a priority. I'm looking for the least time consuming and strenuous route.

    Thanks

    hi,
those two options you mentioned will bring u to the glenmalure side if thats where u want to go. If you want to go to to the glen of imaal side which i believe would be less strenuos you could go out through jobstown, blessington and then take a left for donard or go further and turn off for glen of imaal

I'm looking for the easy option all round. Planning to cycle to the highest peak in each of the provinces. I want to be coming at Lugnaquilla where I can climb it then. Do you think it's the best option to come down through Blessington to tackle the climb so?

It is illigal to cycle on Lugnaquilla Mountain, walking only. The rangers will stop you and turn you back, plus they video you too.

I'm hardly going to cycle up the mountain. I'm going to cycle to the mountain and walk up it.

yep you can climb it from the glen of imaal side handy enough. On the n81 take the left turn off for glen of imaal up a small incline past a saw mills, carry on straight past the army camp and you'll eventually reach a small pub beside a 1798 monument, the route is in there on your right down a lane
