What would happen if you knew you failed your driving test and offered the tester E500 and he reported you to the powers that be?

I'd guess a pretty lengthy driving ban.

They couldn't do anything, its your word against theirs. I brought €100 along in case i failed, luckily I passed and retained the cash.

It depends if the E500 is in a brown envelope or not.

A waste of 500 and possibly a fine and/or a ban on driving.

I'd personally go for all of the above.

What's worrying me is that I'm unsure if this is just hypothetical!

    I hope so.

Bribing a driving test official shouldn't cost more than E100, normally.

I hear its nearly impossible to fail nowadays. I've a friend whose girlfriend cant reverse and she manages to pass.

Pro tip: Bring sealed brown envelope with five pieces of thin paper inside.

    Fail test.

Offer envelope in exchange for passing.

    Response A) You pass!

Response B) A bribe? No sir, and I shall report you to the proper authorities.

"Why would I have given him an envelope of paper as a bribe officer?"

Its amazing what a short skirt & low top can show when it comes to driving ability :pac:

At a minimun you would be prohibited from taking any state examinations for 7 years this includes leaving certificate etc this is the penalty for cheating or attempting to cheat in any state exam

at worst you could be done for attempted bribery which I imagine carries anything from a fine to a jail sentence

    Are you for real?
I put so much hard work into learning how to drive. I remember when I started I thought - this is something I'm only going to do once, so I'll do it properly. I went from instructor to instructor until I found one who was fantastic and loyal. I looked forward to my weekly driving lessons.
test no.1 - failed with 20+ grade 2s. Nerves got to me big time.
Test no.2 - wasn't as nervous but failed with 14 grade 2s. So improved greatly.
Test no.3 - went in with a fcuk it approach and wasn't nervous and failed by one grade 2.

Maddening to hear things like this.

I really hope driving testers are hit badly with this recession/depression

    Ha - this

I know people that cant reverse, drive or use a round about that have passed - I wonder how bad you actually have to be to fail -

why? reversing around a corner is only one part of the test, if that was the only part she had trouble with and she got less ticks then you then she is still a better driver then you in the eyes of the system

edit; although it is a considerably easier test if you take it in a rural area then an urban one
