The local landlord had been on to me for ages to go see his cousin who has been pestered with deer in south Kilkenny on the Tip border.
Off I went this afternoon and met the farmer, had a chat, cuppa and off I went for a stroll to see the ly of the land. Roughly 500 acre of pasture which surrounds hw & sw private Forrestry.
Was out about five min when I spotted a dog fox lying on a bank Sunni g himself so I ran like the little fat feker I am back to the jeep and got out the rifle. Sure enough 10 min later he's still there.
110grn Vmax in 30-06 at over 3100fps sure makes a hole in a fox.
I'd post a pic of the other side but there wasn't one.
Farmer was delighted, in fact he introduced me to the adjoining farmers and it turns out I know the guy who owns the private Forrestry.
All in all I got over 900acre of new deer permission signed up.
    Nice!
