Building a reamp box

    Hello,

    I am interested in making myself a reamp box and I have some questions for your electronic peeps out there.

    Part of my policy when recording is that anything can be DI'd is DI'd for every take. The amps artists generally bring aren't great and the ones I have are fine but I like to have options, especially if I can borrow something very nice.

    Following from the thread linked above the article talks about having different resistor values after the switch.

    What is the inductor there for? The instructions are disappointingly unclear for a newbie. I am not totally sure how everything works and I am trying to work out the signal flow the best I can.

    On the pic I uploaded I have two question marks.

    Is the one on the right the transformer?
    The one on the left is meant to be an inductor. What is the point of this when the alternative to it on the switch is a resistor. In my mind having two different resistors of different values makes more sense then the inductor and then a resistor as an alternative.

    The author says to have different resistance values for different sounds.
    I was thinking of using a one pole 8 way rotary switch I have lying around to have as many distinct sounds as I can so the question there is what is the minimum and maximum resistance I should use?
    I could also just use another standard pot with a big resistance value but they can be very non linear and difficult to fine tune, at least that is what I have found using a 100k pot.

    I would find it easier to figure out if you posted a circuit diagram, coz I'm just a hack. I'll take a wild guess that it's a filter, probably LP.
