Thinking of heading over for this on Thurs/Fri this year. Just wondering if anone has been before and the best way to get to Wentworth?

Went over a few years back when our club pro qualified for the event.

From memory we flew into Heathrow and got a taxi to the venue (not sure of the cost but it was not a lot). Some of us stayed in the Ibis at the airport others stayed in Guilford.

Renting a car for a couple of days might be the best option.

Wentworth itself is a magnificent venue and well worth a visit as is the area of Surrey in which the course is located.

I went to the Matchplay there a few years ago, you can get a train from central London, Waterloo station to Virginia Water station, its only a few minutes drive from there and the organisers usually have a shuttle bus to collect people from the station. As far as I can remember the journey from London is about 45 minutes. if you go to nationalrail.co.uk you can plan the journey and buy tickets online.
