What do people think of gaps between peoples two front teeth and nowhere else

    Cutie? Ugly?

    Discuss

I think It depends if the teeth are white all over, plus if all the other teeth are straight. I have seen quiet a few people with the famous gap

Depends, on a guy or girl, and how big of a gap.

I wouldn't be drawn to it, but I don't think it's ugly either

I find some suit it and some don't.

Vanessa Paradis looks really cute with it but Madonna doesn't.

It suits some people like the model Lara Stone: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Gxd3kkQLZHo/RkkXkSeGDxI/AAAAAAAAABk/U7kywtp2fVs/s320/dilemmalarastone.png

    and that Jagger girl: http://www.modelinia.com/__wordpress__/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/883a433f9754b1df_gap_tooth_model_georgia_may_jagger.jpg

David Letterman has a little gap which I think suits him: http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQnYVaMEJ7OngzAVTW0J2vuMSTAkVG6Mx5t_mS1KH9BRBHUrSKTqA

It's kinda different, and adds a bit of character I think to most people who have it. Might not suit everyone though.

    Good post

what is interesting here is those people posted above could definitely afford to have them fixed to perfection. They obviously got them whiten too

    So why not??

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's ugly, but it isn't something I'd be happy to have personally. Maybe it's because I had braces when I was younger so really straight, perfect teeth are simply something I appreciate.

I don't recall noticing Madonnas teeth when seeing her wearing her cone brassiere.
A small defect is always in proportion to the total picture

I think it can look quite interesting, but ive never looked at someone and thought they were better or worse looking because they had a gap in their teeth

it's called a diastema. op if you have one, and are thinking of doing something with it, then ask about filling it with white filling that's bonded to the teeth. if you don't like it, it can be removed easily without damaging the teeth at all.

but yeah, vanessa paradis is the only one i can think of off hand that could pull it off!

    Truthfully, I'm not a fan.

No I don't have one, but thats some good advice for people reading this thread who do have a gap I suppose

That person could get veneering done either I'd expected

veneers are expensive, and have to be replaced after a certain time.

They are only 600 euro's I think, it's 300 to get your teeth whiten, so why not spend the extra 300 euro's while your at it

600 each. if you want to close a gap like that, you would need at least two, and to keep the sizes pretty good relative to each other, you may need the 4 or 6 front teeth done, just so that the front two on their own don't look like spades.

would it not be cheaper to get implants at that rate:confused:

    Or braces as another option?

^Don't forget that veneers can often damage your teeth really badly and cause a lot of pain.

I quite like gaps, although that may be because I have quite a large one. Mine doesn't bother me, but if there were some sort of cheap, invisible, painless braces I'd consider getting it fixed, just to even my teeth up.
