sky/setanta correlation

while chatting to the bar owner in my local pub i had a discussion with him regarding the benefits of him subscribing to setanta sports to show certain sporting fixtures. He told me that he would not be able to afford this as he is paying through the roof as it is for the sky commerical subscription. I suggested maybe getting a residential setanta subscription in his daughters name and screening it this way and he was undecided. I dont want to suggest anything illegal but am confused as to what advice to offer him? Would he be entitled to do this or would setanta also impose a business subscription rate on him despite him paying through the nose for sky. I really feel for the guy as we all know that the pub trade is in serious decline and sky's extortionate rates do not reflect this. What is the relationship between sky and setanta in this case?

    This would be illegal.

There is no relationship between Sky and Setanta. You have to pay Setanta commercial rates. Just because your paying Sky, doesn't mean you don't have to pay Setanta.

Think of it this way, just because you bought a bottle of milk in Dunnes Stores, doesn't mean you can go into Tesco and just take a bottle of milk.

Of course that isn't to say that Sky's pricing isn't extortionate.

The advice you gave him is bad and could get him in a lot of trouble.
