Do women have any manners?

Last night in work I held the door open for six women walking out the door. Not ONE even looked at me never mind said thanks and this is not the first time!

I never have this problem with men. Is it just me or do women just expect men to these kinds of things with no thanks?

Why weren't they in the kitchen making you a sammich? :pac:

EDIT: Unless you look creepy. Do you have an air of creepyness?

it's generally just Irish women and their pig head ignorance.

An english or Spanish girl would have smiled and or say thanks...Irish skanks wont even bark at you...

    I declare an all-out-gender-war.

    You're going to get it.

Do you look like a rapist?

Seriously though, maybe they were pissed, ignorant, engrossed in conversation, whatever...

Man, woman, child, it's not polite to ignore someone doing a good deed. Their gender is pretty irrelevant tbh.

Also, maybe they said "thanks" but you were too busy staring at their tits to notice? Gender bashing is fun!

I know where you're coming from OP....only last night a woman left a brown star on my forehead after she sat on my face and never bothered to tell me before I left her apartment.

She made me look like a right sh1thead while walking home through town!

I really hate that also, I have a simple remedy tho.

Just quite loudly say "your welcome" and he/she will be mortified in-front of who-ever happens to be within earshot.

It's actually a funny thing to watch :)

Women of all age and nationalities do this to me, too, not just Irish wimmen. Obviously not tarring all with a brush but I see it more frequently with wimmen than I do with guys.

Makes me want kick them up the arse as they walk on by me without a single bit of thanks or a nod for holding a door for them.

If I was Brad Pitt I'd at least get a mumbled "thank you"! Typical!! :pac:

    Those pesky women.
Someone should put manners on them.

It is an age of equality isn't it? Just let the door slam in their faces. After that they'll be ultra nice to anyone else holding a door for them.
    Problem solved, I think.

    Glazers Out!

You probably look like a paedophile and the women were so disgusted by your appearance they thought it would be better to pretend you didn't exist.

I'm a woman and I have noticed this too! I would just always hold open the door for anyone who was walking through behind me, male or female, but I've noticed recently several women just walking past with their head up in the air... I even thought I saw a hint of "hah! I made you hold open the door" on one girl's face... so anyway to answer your question, some women have no manners whatsoever.

Well the fact you refuse to wear clothing may be a factor here.

I tend to hold the door open for people, but with lift doors I always try to close it before someone gets in. The look of disappointment facing me is amusing:)

Ah but what about all the ones that do say thanks though? Trouble is, by the time you find out you've held out the door open for an ungrateful so-and-so it's too late....

I've done that before, held a door open only to get yer one walk through and me being in a stupid biscuit ar$ed mood go; "You're welcome."

Cue me walking away. Stopping after a few steps with the realisation of "F*ck! I sound like a complete tosser. Aw!"

    question???

If after the first 3 girls didnt acknowledge or say thanks, why didnt you just let go of the door and let the 4th girl hold it??? or sometimes I just look at them and say "YOUR welcome"!!!! gotta say though, its nothing to do with them being irish, just rude girls full stop. could happen if they were any other nationality, rudeness is universal and doesn't descriminate.

I noticed this years ago so to combat it when said woman comes towards the door I stand in her way, then we do the awkward simultaneous standing to one side a few times then I put my hand out and smile “after you”. I usually get a thank you then.

Hmmmm, yeah one time in particular I had an almost incontrollable urge to follow a really rude young wan to screech at her or pull her hair out - thankfully I resisted - a) because I would have been the rude one then and more importantly b) because I was in work at the time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 901 ✭✭✭EL_Loco

rise above it dawg, if you do it for thanks then you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

Well that's my point exactly, surely the vast majority of people are nice too, so we should all continue to hold open doors for others, based on that assumption :)

Oh look you made a silly assumption there for all men must make silly assumptions.

6 women does not mean all women in the country are like that or all of them on the planet.

Lack of manners is a big problem with a lot of Irish women, they seem to act with an element of disgust when men try to be chivalrous.

I think it has something to do with girls liking bad boys so next time pretend to hold the door and then let it go they will be all over you then!

Too be fair his sample space was greater than one.
IMO some people will be rude and some won't,gender is irrelevant.
