Help, I have 2 20wk old rescue pups from different litters. 1 of them happily jumps into the car but as soon as it starts to move she starts foaming at the mouth followed by her being sick. She can be sick within a minute of being in the car even if she hasn't been fed for hours. I've tried short journeys everyday and there doesn't seem to be any improvement. I take them to socialisation classes which they love and to the park in the car so its associated with fun things.

    Any suggestions?

I have a 7 month old pup who was the same when he was younger, going to the vets for vaccs etc, was sick every time, he was in a wire crate. Then he came to England with us and a few other long journeys, and travelled in a crate with wooden sides, and he seemed to be fine, even on the ferry. But last week I put him in a wire crate again to go to a boarding kennel, and he was sick going and on the way back, so I wonder if its to do with them being able to see out. My lad is in the back of a van, so he can't see out of the windows, but could maybe see the van going up and down? (country roads:D)

So...... maybe try a crate with a blanket over it?

I've also heard that giving them a ginger nut before travelling works, as does putting a sprig of rosemary in the vehicle.

Thanks but unfortunatley a crate won't fit in the car (s60)so i have to use safety harnesses. I will try the ginger and rosemary though.
