i recently received a standard fare notice on the luas. i am a regular luas user and always have a valid ticket. i just forgot my wallet on this occasion( my valid weekly ticket included). so i sent my valid ticket(plus a series of recent valid weekly tickets) to veolia explaining this. they rejected my appeal and still believe i should pay my standard fare notice. unbelieveable. what is your opinion? i am considering not paying and going to court. i really believe this is unjust.
    yours kindly and truly

No one is doubting your honesty, or integrity, it's just that you didn't have the ticket on the day, and the legal requirement is that you must have it with you. I don't see much point in going to Court.

Roberto,"to thine own heart be true"....It's YOUR call entirely,if you believe your treatment is unjust in the legal sense, then off to a Solicitors with you and instruct them to prepare a case for you.

Please advise us here of whatever course of action you decide to take .

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

    Charles Mackay (1812-1889)
