Support for Clematis

    Could anyone suggest a suitable support on a block wall for clematis montana.
    I did have strings stretched between support pillars, but the clematis got quite heavy and drooped.

    Would the accordion type trellis be suitable or something this:

    That one would be much more suitable as it is a stronger type trellis and will hold more weight. Key is that if you are putting it against a wall put some strong lengths of two by one timeber onto the wall first. If you are putting it away from a wall put two firm posts at either end. Will last for years if you do it like that. Best of luck , I already have one like it :D
