There's a range called gorgeous in Debenhams. I find them great. I always check different sizes in bras if I'm getting a different style. I find that like clothes you could take a DD in one, a D in another and an E in something else. Even after getting measured!

I think La Senza should do the trick!

Thing is, DD isn't considered a big bra size these days. Primark stock DD, as too La Senza, Marks and Sparks, Debenhams, Next and even some of the other high street stores. Years ago it was near impossible to get a DD (I was 30DD, once!) and you'd have to buy online, but now they are everywhere.

I bought some of the Debenhams Gorgeous bras and don't find them as good as other ranges for bigger cup sizes (Freya, Fantasie etc). I find the straps dig in to my shoulders more and there doesn't seem to be as much support around the underband, where most of the support should be.

I saw someone here recommending ebay for good brands lately, definitely going to try there next time I want Freya/Fantasie etc.

Absolutely agree with Kandr10, like clothes, different styles mean you'll have to change sizes. Bit of a pain, it does mean you've to try every bra on before you buy, but if you're handing over €30-€50 for a good bra, it's worth it.

I'm the same size as you OP and get most of my bras in Arnotts. They can be expensive, but they have great discounts in sales. Have never had any luck finding 32DD in Penney's before.

Keep in mind that your size may differ from brand to brand to it's always best to try before you buy. I'd be a 32DD in Wonderbra, but was a 32D in a Masquerade.

yes you will find DD sizes in the likes of penneys and dunnes but they tend to be cut smaller and have no support. i second the gorgeous range in debenhams, but def try before you buy as even though they are the same make the style may have a different fit. like the op said dont get hung up on the size, its the fit that matters in the end, you'll know thats right when the middle of the underwire is touching your breastbone, the straps stay in place and are not digging in/falling down, and the back is straight accross not pulled up or down. reg check the sales, you can get some great bargains in the 70% off section.

DD isn't too much off average any more but 32 is another story. An awful lot of ranges start at 34 and those that cater for 32 rarely go past C. So for a 32D it is necessary to go to specialist ranges.

Luckily there are more specialist ranges now. M&S and Debenhams both have them as well as going to the lingerie departments of BTs, Clerys, Arnotts, etc.

I agree with the others and recommend Freya & Fantasie, the majority of mine are Chantelle but Fantasie have lovely ones and are a good bit cheaper. They last quite a long time as long as you don't throw them in the machine as well.

I've tried a few of teh Debenhams brands but found they don't compare well to the proper brands and aren't that much cheaper.

Yeah DD shouldn't be hard to find, it's not huge by any means, the back size might be a problem though, i'm a 34 D/DD and i have trouble finding 34 DD, theres always DD's but they seem to start at around 34/36 in the back size.

I'd stay away from pennies bra's personally, the straps are always wayyy to long, never give enough support which is annoying cos they're usually spot on back/cup size (well for me anyway)

Found a few lovely bras in dunnes recently, in their savida range, might be worth a look!

Would agree with this - if you're bigger up top it's best to spend slightly more and get the support you need. I'm an awkward inbetweeny size though (can be anything from a 34DD to 32F depending on shop/style/TOTM) so I can't really say much about their sizing. I tend to wear a lot of M&S bras, mostly because I use De Mammy's staff discount to get 20% off them, but they do tend to fit well. I'm not a fan of Debenhams (own-brand) bras at all, but they do stock Freya bras which are quite nice.

I'm the same size and used to buy bra's from Dunnes and Penney's but got fitted in BT's in Cork and they recommended Chantelle which I know is more expensive but well worth it you can tell the difference straight away when you have clothes on and the bra's seem to last a lot longer too. Calvin Klein are very good too.

Where is the best spot in Dublin for Freya & Fantasie? I'm not sure I'll find what I need (uber plunge, no padding, 30F) but have to try - HoF or Arnotts or somewhere else? Not online as I need it this week

Arnotts and Debenhams have Freya. I love Arnotts for thier fitting service, but last week Debenhams had a promotion on where if you got fitted there you got a €5 discount on lingerie. I'm not sure if it's still running but check in-store and see! If you're in town Arnotts and Debenhams are just across from each other so you could compare prices.

I agree with the sizing differences, I can go from 36/38DD/E dependant on brand. I usually head to Debenhams for mine, there's a good few brands there that cater for bigger sizes. I'm not too keen on La Senza, I find they go out of shape very quickly and they're not very supportive in comparison to other brands.

Also, I'd never have thought of Pennys but I actually got a great bra in there the other day for €7! :)

    Hi folks,

Im new to this forum so please be nice :) Im looking for your thoughts on the availability of bigger cup size bras in Ireland im talking 30FF/36G. from previous posts it would appear that some of us (me included) have great difficulty in finding bras in our size or to fit us correctly in shops. I am a 28FF/G and find it impossible to find my size here and have to order from bravissimo and other online retailers in the UK :( Thank god for freya and curvy kate - don't know what I did b4 they existed! would love to know ur thoughts on this matter!!
