i have a bit of a dilemma. My brother won a 13ft trampoline and sand box thing in new ross. he lives in cork and we are wondering whats the best way to get it down. i have a trailer which i can tow. the thing is that its a long way (100 miles aa route planner says from) towing a trailer in case something went wrong along the way. is there any courier that would bring it down or something. what would that be likely to cost? what would be the best way

Vantasks.ie? Think it may be Cormie in here. Might be worth a PM.

I could be very wrong though.

Not to be glib but if you don't trust your trailer to do a couple of hundred miles it must be in poor nick, personally i'd trailer it all day everyday, courier could be costly. Though van hire should be 60 quid or so for a day, so might be a good bet for you.

no actually the trailer is 100% but its just would it take forever to get up and when the trailer is empty it can be kind of bouncy.its a 7 ft by 3.5 ft about 4 years old. i think renting a van is out as im only 20.

Yeah 21 is minimum for van rental. Hope you find a decent courier price, otherwise its 80kph from New Ross:)

Of course, but speed limit with trailer is 80kph, and its being enforced more and more.

Load a bag of soil or a barrel of water into it for the journey back.

    Yeah.
I was travelling at 100km/h driving a bus on a motorway between Dublin and Galway recently, and I was overtaken by 13 vehicles with trailers.
To be exact 12, because one of the overtook me once, then parked on motorway hard shoulder to make a phone call, and then overtook again.

So I can see it's being enforced as never.

There's always examples of that, no more than regular speeding, just my experience of more checks for trailer licence, roadworthyness etc, agree though it does seem to be a common occurrence on motorways and it bugs the life out of me.
