Sick and summer pay

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I've been out sick for a few weeks, was hoping to go back now after easter but don't think I'll be able to just yet. I know there was always this story that you had to be back for a few days at end of term to get full pay for summer. I was wondering how long you have to be bac?. I really don't want to be signed off as sick for the whole summer and hopefully I will be back in next few weeks but was wondering is there a certain amount of time I need to be back before end of term. Thanks in advance.

Be careful on the one day thing, people I kknow have been pulled up on 3+ days. Contact your union to get the specifics.

How pulled up? As in summer holidays being all counted as sick leave? I tried union today but they must be all away at conference.

I'm hoping it'll not come to that but I'm now starting to stress over the whole thing.

    Thanks

Yes hols being counted as sick leave. Medmark have taken an aggressive stance with people I would know, even those signed as fit before the hols by a gp being challenged by Medmark doctors.

If you miss the last day of school before holidays and miss the first day back in Sept. then all summer is counted as sick leave.....47 days sick leave approx.

Same situation is if you miss a Friday & Monday....4 days sick leave.....the way they look at it is you were sick on Friday...didn't get better Saturday & Sunday and then sick again Monday!

If you're genuinely sick - you're sick......you return when you're fit for work. I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Sick leave is part of our conditions of service and there is no problem as long as it's not abused.

You'll automatically be referred to MedMark by BOM when you have missed 12 weeks...84 days ....in any 12 month period.
