    Hi,

I have looked at a lot of cars and have narrowed down the choice to buying under the scrappage scheme either a new VW Golf or a Ford CMax (both 1.6 diesels, the CMax 95 bhp, VW 105 bhp). There is not much difference in cost.
If anyone could help with any advice between the two, it would be great or if anyone who owns one could give any advice.
    Many thanks.

The Golf is a family hatchback and the C-Max is a compact MPV so they are not directly comparitable. So it really boils down to what requirements you need from a car. The C-Max has a higher driving position, more practical seating arrangement, taller head room and a more usable boot because it is designed and aimed at people with young faimiles who find a hatchback like the Golf or Focus inpractical for their needs.

To compare like with like you would need to compare the Golf with the Focus or the Golf Plus with the C-Max.
