I have an interview coming up soon for an art college place. I was asked to bring along my art portfolio and my cv with me. I have not been at an interview like this and I'm not really sure what to expect.

    1. What should I include in my art portfolio ?

    2. What type of questions will they ask me?

    3. How can I give a good impression?

    1. What should I include in my art portfolio ?

Depends on the course/focus of study. If it's just a general fine arts course then you should have a range of work showing a selection of mediums. 10 to 15 finished pieces presented in a clear and easy to look through manner. The people doing the interviews will have looked through hundreds of portfolios so they will do it really quickly...doesn't mean they aren't paying attention. If your applying for a foundation/first year course then you just want to show a good basic grasp and a progression of work [having dates on pieces helps as they can see a development then] At least two sketchbooks filled with notes, doodles, swipes, etc relating to the finished pieces [if you don't have this then cheat and put them together now]
    2. What type of questions will they ask me?

Why your interested in this area of art...why your interested in studying this area of art at this college...where you see your career going 5/10/15 years down the line etc They will pick out pieces from your work and ask about them. Being able to talk about your own work in clear and confident manner is very important.
    3. How can I give a good impression?

Show you've researched the course your applying for and your not just picking a course at random out of a book [if you've applied for 20 other courses at that moment in time that course is your first choice even if it's not]. If there was an open day and you didn't go have a good reason why not. If you've spoken to any current or past students from the course that's a plus. Just generally have a bit of life about you, nothing worse then having to interview someone that you have to pull every piece of information out of.
