Just a quick question, A friend is geting married in sunny Spain but this date coincides with my signing on day. Any advice on what to do? What would happen if i missed signing on? Can i contact them first? would i loose that weeks benefit?

I am thinking of popping over there for two weeks, would i loose benefit for both weeks? If i werent to collect for a week what would happen?

    Thanks in advance

You are allowed 2 weeks holidays per year so no problem there but be sure to notify your Social Welfare office in advance of going away , if you head off without telling them then you are just making difficulties for yourself when you return.

About 2 weeks before you go on holidays go to your sw office and fill out a holiday form. If your signing date coincides with your holiday you will be excused from signing. Your payments to the post office will also be put on hold and will be released to coincide with your return from holidays. SW will be able to let you know when your payment will be in po and when your next sign on date will be.
