Politician is probably the most obvious answer but not necessarily always true (especially outside of Ireland)

    Night watchman: Zzzzzz

Printer support: "Remove paper jams" "reload toners when they've run out"

    Sleep Clinic guinea pig: Zzzzzz

not so easy – actually takes a fair bit a physical exertion to hold a pose that long.

I'd say bar tending in an old mans pub.

Yep. Did this for a few years in a couple of pubs and a GAA club. You tend to have all the cleaning done by noon. If you have a rudimentary grasp of history, politics, GAA, soccer, horseracing and bigotry there isn't even much studying involved. Even if you don't, you can cover up your ignorance with a few stock phrases; "Talk to me about it", "<insert name> would turn in his grave" ,"He couldn't give <insert name> a game on his best day", "They're not as bad as <insert country that's not being talked about>".

Break in case of emergency: "Was it for this that Michael Collins and James Connolly gave their lives?", "Fcuking junkies, ruining this neighbourhood"

Closer: "Shur what chance do those kids have? It's the dealers and the moneymen over in the Bahamas that have this country ruined"

*polish bar busily (with barely concealed/suppressed frustration), and hurry away to get "much needed stock".*

    \clientele nod sagely.

Got to love the way people bitch and moan about the council being lazy, Over paid, etc etc. Well there was nothing stopping people from getting a job there.

HA HA HA. Sounds like one of my locals. Classic.

I worked for a guy who was a contractor for Galway County Council. It was a joke. I was supposed to be driving machinery. Somedays we didn't even start the engines. I was asked once why was I working so hard "you're paid by the hour". Loads of tea breaks and we used to block the road if a bakery van or coke truck was coming. We'd get free stuff from them to let them pass. Good old days of the Tiger.

The permanent guys were the worst. Some didn't even carry their shovels, instead they would drag them along the road behind them.

Fundamentally don't agree with this. There's a huge difference between doing "easy" jobs and doing mundane necessary jobs. I'd say the middle management do a lot less work (and less competently) than the average toll booth operator, and I'd bet my last euro that they are better remunerated.

Yeah, a librarian is a real girls job, so no physical labour required.
There's never any urgency in their job, no deadlines or anything.

Our library service is one of the few things left in this country that the founding fathers would be proud of. Open to all, egalitarian, and a provider of many services that you haven't mentioned. Where immigrants and natives swap language lessons for free, where OAPs meet up to "read the paper" (they have the paper at home but it doesn't come with people to discuss it with), Scrabble clubs, tech solutions for the computer illiterate without having to be embarrassed, Book clubs, I could go on...

How anyone can give out about our library service is beyond me.

They were doing work outside my house last week and i was chatting to them, i said yer getting on grand and your man says "ah we're slow to get going but when we do, we're grand". Did a cracking job though.
