Advice and car hire recommendation in Dublin Airport

    Hi guys hope somebody can help me out here.

    Need to hire a car from Dublin airport in the next few weeks. I have used car hire firms on holidays before and it was easy and simple. Pay them, get the car, drive it, give it back as you found it.

    Looking at car hire firms operating out of dublin airport I'm seeing some things and I'm thinking WTF?

    Very high charges for budget cars, I think their is a charge for using Dublin airport but maybe somebody can confirm this. Things such as you have to pay us upfront for fuel instead of just handing it back the way it was and also saw one company, name slips my mind, asking for a credit card to be left with them as insurance and a huge fee taking off it in case you dont give it back.

    Am I missing something here or is car hire in Ireland taking the mickey or am I mis-reading stuff here.

    Anyone hired from Dublin airport and if so who would you recommend, what hidden charges etc...

    I've just checked on travelsupermarket and car hire rates and conditions from Dublin airport are broadly in line with prices and terms and conditions from any UK airport (and most European airports).

    So, frankly, I've no idea what you're talking about.:confused:

    Hi - as I am the nervous driver type geek, could anyone tell me where is the exact spot /address for car hire RETURNS at Dublin airport??
    Getting the location of the car rental take out (Hertz) is no problem, as very well documented on airport website. But nothing for RETURNS.
    Could anyone who has - been there,done that - please tell me the spot as I like to look it up on a map before I drive it.
