    hi

we have been to 2 vet practices in S Dublin (with cats), they are both a bit far for you but I would certainly recommend them:

    - Sandymount http://www.sandymountpethospital.ie/
    - and the DSPCA new vet clinic

Insurance: we have been using petinsure.ie, and unfortunately needed to make claims and they were good, would recommend them.

Great vet on nutgrove ave, near the shopping centre.

Have heard some good thinks about the one on Nutgrove Avenue.
We attend Argyle & Bainbridge in Dundrum, just up from the Garda Station, we find them great. They've a clinic in Stillorgan also.

I havnt posted in a while but felt compelled to when I saw you mention the ark vetcare.

I would strongly discourage anyone from going there, we had our dog there for the 17 years of her life. They used to be good but now they seem to just be in it for the money. Had a very bad experience with one of the younger vets there he was so unbelievably rude and I can never understand how he became a vet. Any time we had our dog down with him she would be shaking for hours afterwards and he was extremely unprofessional and quite cruel in his handling of her.

We have two dogs now and we would never go back there. I know a good few others who have taken their dogs out of there too.

We have a lovely vet now in sandycove which is probably a bit far.

i brought my pup to ark before i saw your comment and i was kinda impressed by them... they do a free puppy check so i could bring her in before vaccinations and they organise a puppy party with a dog trainer so the dogs can socialise and owners can pick up some knowledge!

i dunno whether to change now after your bad experience?

If you've had a good experience with them by all means stay with them, I jsut found them a bit too 'commercial' for me, too money hungry.

What I will say though is that we dealt with one female vet in the one in deansgrange, she was a young vet and she was lovely.

The other branch in Dun Laoghaire is defo the one to stay away from, imo. :)
