Hi all!! .... I have not used this in a long time so may take some getting used to again!! ;)

I am a newly qualified primary school teacher (NQT). I substituted for most of the 2010 -2011 academic year in various primary schools.

However I do not know how to go about claiming back my tax for the year. Where do I even begin?? :/ I would appreciate grately if anyone could help me with this matter!!! THANK YOU! :)

You should have all your P60's by now from the various schools in which you were employed.
Take those together with any receipts for rent you paid, bin charges, unreimbursed medical expenses to your local tax office. Ask for a P21 for the year, which is a summary of your tax situation for the year.
    That should do it!

download a form 12 tax return from Revenue.ie website, complete and submit it to Revenue. Your can get your tax district address from the contact locator on Revenue website by typing in your PPS number or it will be on your cert of tax credits correspondance received from Revenue. Alternatively you can prepare a tax return for relevant years using the ROS system (there is a registration process if you are not already registered). Check out Revenue website for details.
