    Kicks off at 8PM

Blackburn back to 4-4-2 for the first time in a good while, 2 strong men up front for them and will hopefully pose some threat.

Disappointed that Hoilett is not fit, and I hope Emerton improves his delivery tonight compared to his last few games.

January signing Rochina looked decent in his debut for Blackburn, would like to see him come on for one of the front two at some stage - and the other January arrival Formica finally takes a place on the bench.

If that graphic is right Mancini needs to shown the door!

1-0 Blackburn I've gotta feeling they're gonna shut out city tonight!

    I'd say it will be more a 4-5-1 :D

Sky get the formations on the score centre thing wrong the odd time.

Same team that played in the Cup against Man Utd.

I don't know what to feel going into this one, I'm kind of glad Santa Cruz cannot play tonight - He has not played terrible, but it has not worked - hope it gets mixed up a bit more tonight.

Oh Silva that would have been delish!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

That would have been a smashing goal, inches away from Silva!

Should have been a booking for Barry.

Roberts going down too easy cost him there.

If Roberts went down when he was clipped rather than doing a swan dive half a minute later he might have gotten a penalty.

Blackburn need to pick up, can't let City run the tempo like this. Get in their faces ffs.

The one bad thing about Hart highlighted twice already tonight, his distribution of the ball needs a lot of work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,247 ✭✭✭Meglamonia

Blackburn need to make more of an effort to get out their half they're inviting city on to them.

Not sure about the Sky feed but here in sweden you can hear loud and clear from the city fans "Who put the ball in the Munichs net". Stay classy lads.

Second blatant bodycheck of the night from Barry, gets booked for that one.

His opposite number tonight is one of the best at it IMO.

Blackburn playing very well at the moment.

City started well but Blackburn weathered the storm and ended the half looking better

Blackburn doing well defensively, and coming back into the game there towards the end of the first half. They will obviously be the happier at half time with their game plan very much still alive.

City seemed to lose the early impetus they had and gradually dropped deeper as the half went on. Maybe a bit of frustration at a dogged Blackburn defence.

The midfield battle has been a good one, Dunn and De Jong seem to be enjoying a good battle together, and Jermaine Jones is well able to hold his own.

It's great to see two tough players flying in with challenges whilst neither one fannys around like he's been shot after it. They just shake hands and get on with it.

Nasty from Jermaine Jones, knew he was beaten.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Roberts!! you should have done better there.

Such a great chance, should have been 1-0 to Blackburn.

    Opr

    Rochina on for Dunn,

Just what is needed now for Blackburn, he is not afraid to take the ball and run with it.

Dunn straight down the tunnel, might have an injury - but I think the shape is working so it would have been better to take Dunn off than Roberts or Benjani.

City have lost the flow alltogether it seems!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

    Kalanic on for Benjani.

Dzecko looks to be coming on soon too.

Harsh on Blackburn, had been much the better team in 2nd half.

Silva is some player, truly world class.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Bit much made of that from Ballotelli,

New trick now is to hold the face so the ref has to stop it.

Seeing the goal again City got lucky with his position for that one.

Once again the better team will go away with a moral victory and no points

I don't think balotelli was interfering or blocking Robinson's sight anymore than Givet in front of him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Sponsor's man of the match Phil Jones - has had an immense game, quality player, scored with that headed chance and he might have won the official man of the match!

Bigger clubs will be taking a look at him. Very Solid and committed player. If Blackburn get relegated, he could be got for cheap too.

    Haha Balotelli!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,169 ✭✭✭JohnnyRyan99

City were shíte, your man Jones was a very worthy man of the match, fantastic performence from the lad!

Thought that was one of the worst displays from a referee iv witnessed all season! Inconsistent as Fúck and overall simply apalling!

Disappointing cause we started so well, but tbh i enjoy when we play shít and come away with a filthy 1-0 win, starting to get a bit of much needed grit into our game, rather than crumbling and coming away with nothing!

Not a vintage performance as a few have said already but who cares, if United went and played like that and won everyone would be saying its the hallmark of champions.

Delighted for Dzeko as well, took his goal well.

+1, they did what they had to do. No one gives a sh*t about performabces at this stage of the season when you still have something to play for. They got the job done.

    Happy for Dzeko as well.

I don't know how his contract is regards relegation, he signed a one year extension recently which I assume will have had a minimum release fee in it, given it was not long since he had signed his last one, a 5 year one.

I myself don't think he will be got cheap in any circumstance, he is a local enough lad and I think that brings with it a certain amount of loyalty.

Remember when eagle eye went on about how much better Blackburn were than Liverpool and Villa after the midweek win over Liverpool? So funny.

A much needed result for us to go four ahead of spurs. I could not take a repeat of last season losing to spurs with one to go. Hopefully it won't even be a must win game now.

Not counting any chickens yet though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

I think it's done personally, City get fourth. Spurs run in is just too hard. Even if City lose to Spurs, which I think they could due to the FA Cup final, and even if they lose to Everton aswell, Chelsea and Liverpool will take points off Spurs. They would literally imo, need to win the next 5 games, to get 4th. Considering their form, that seems unlikely. Very disappointing.
