I'd be a bit shocked that Rafa would join Chelsea tbh but for Chelsea it makes sense, a manager with a great record in the CL, someone who knows the PL well and also someone who has gotten the best out of Torres... Thoughts??

He had an interview with SSN and said he's consider any PL club bar 2/3 but didn't mention what teams. I thought they would be Utd, Everton and Chelsea but obviously not.

There's a little known tool built in to most internet browsers called the Sports Journalism Bullshit Filter that can suss out nothing stories made to fill column inches. All you have to do is hold Ctrl + F, which brings up the Find box. Then type in either "is understood to" or "sources close to" and click find. If it brings up a result, then the story is officially regarded as BS.

This story thus fails the Sports Journalism Bullshit Filter.

I'm not saying it's true but normally the Guardian are reliable and I've never seen any tabloid crap on their site so I would say their is some truth to the story.

That story could be very much true, it was just stupid bigging it up like they did. When they said Utd and Madrid had a pre agreement signed for Ronaldo to move for 80m 6 months before it happened everyone called it Bullsh*t just like the Bale to Inter story.

Just becuae he eventually signed for Madrdid doesn't necessarily mean the pre-agreement existed at the time the Guardian reported it. It has never been confirmed AFAIK.

Even if the story is true all its says is that rafa would be interested, there is no reason to believe that chelsea would be.

Well a couple of weeks after they reported it nearly every English paper and a lot of Spanish/English journalists started reporting the same thing. Even the then Madrid president Ramon Calderon came out and said he had an agreement in place to sign Ronaldo after he left the club.

I read not so long since that 'Arry was coming to the Bridge, this weekend its Rafa, or will it be Guss, next week it will be someone else, Jose or someone.
