went for a check up recently and got my blood pressure taken, nurse asked if i was feeling light headed or faint as my blood pressure was low, i said no. then she looked back at my record and said oh your blood pressure has always been low. why would this be? and is it a cause of concern can anyone tell me?

Iam in the same boat as you, talked to the doctor bout it and he said some people just naturally have lowish bp and as long as you don't have any symptoms I.e. light headed etc its perfectly fine

Depending on how low (and symptons), sometimes it can be seen as a sign of health and fitness. I stress depending on how low.

to be honest, i just didn't think, it was only after i got thinking!! silly I know, it was the fact she said oh yeah it's always been low. i never really faint but sometimes i think i am abnormally tired. like yesterday went to town, was in 1st shop and felt so heavy, completely jadded!! wonder could these be related coz i am in my twenties very slim and reasonably fit, exercise 4/5 times a week

I wouldn't worry to much about it. A lower blood pressure in fit healthy people is a sign of a good strong healthy heart. If your non active its a different kettle of fish. Also if your on the far side of 50 even if active id keep monitoring it. You don't necessarily have low blood pressure until its below 100/60 or even 90/60 but some doctors tend to say its low when its 110/75 or something similar.

just because you dont know anything about it tommy doesn't mean nobody else here does.
If you are clueless about a topic how about not posting a comment.

To the OP, low blood pressure or hypotension is nothing to worry about.
Only time it can have any affect is if you stand up very quickly after sitting down for a long time where you might feel a little light-headed.

I have low blood pressure, most likely cause is neuropathy, but it hasn't been piined down as the exact cause. Was told my plan to eat lots of fatty bacon, cheese and other delicious products was a bad one :D.

Was told it was only very serious if I start blacking out.
