This is gona be a tough game,Everton are hitting form recently and we've failed to convert chances in the last 2 games.I'd gladly take any kind of win in this match,it's results that count now.3 points before Chelsea and Arsenal kick a ball will be a bonus.

This game is definitely going to be one that plays a big part in the run in, everton have been playing well recently and are breathing down Liverpools necks

United could have done with an "easy" game after two toughies recently.
I'm hoping the fact that the game is at Old Trafford might help in some way. Everton at Goodison with full on Rooney booing would have been some mountain to climb especially given their great form of late.

I can see this being a tightly contested draw, possibly 2-2 but with Everton having the better of the game and probably being more deserving of a win than a tired United.

I feel it will take a big chunk of "the stuff of champions" or possibly good fortune for United to prove me wrong in this game.

    Glazers Out!

I know we weren't playing great earlier this season but United really had our number in the reverse fixture, and it was unbelievable what happened in stoppage time. Optimistically 1-1, but realistically 2-0 to United, considering the team we will put out.

Everton normally put it up to ye and this game should be no different - draw.
They are on a pretty decent run and should score. United haven't scored in the last two games and should find it hard to break down the away team - 1-1.

    2-1 United

We should have enough to get through this sticky fixture at home.

We don't play home that early very often do we ?
Hoping for a good performance and the win

They appear to give it a go better than most teams do at Old Trafford but their results there do not match up to that analogy.

17 matches at Old Trafford in the PL. 14 Utd wins and 3 draws. That's a pretty emphatic record tbf.

Utd have won 12 out of 13 games at Old Trafford this year, drawing the other one.

I fully expect a home win but we will have to work for it.

Massive game for us tomorrow. Everton hitting there good form late in the season as usual and always give us a pretty tough game but we usually just come through it. Going for a 2-0 victory.

Whats Everton team going to look like?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,957 ✭✭✭The Volt

They know how to get results it seems despite having on paper what can look like a rather mediocre (by their standards) side. That said, I hope we have a go as the pressure is clearly on them. Stranger things have happened this season.

With Arteta and Cahill back in the fray, Moyes will be tempted to bring them back in. I hope he keeps them on the bench though and rewards Osman with a start behind Beckford in attack.

Easy win here for United, there's no way they'll fail to win 3 times in the space of a week :)

as was posted earlier they have a great record at home v everton but that won't count come kickoff time.
The pressure is mounting and for them not to score/win 3 times in a week would be akin to a team buckling under pressure in the title run in. Utd normally relish the pressure however.
A few days ago I thought a home win was on the cards but I feel everton might just nick a draw now. Should be well worth the watch.

Tough one. I'm always nervous about playing Everton, they have blagguarded us on certain big occasions over the years and The Flah has a very long memory. I've a lot of admiration and respect for Moyes as a manager and I think he's done a brilliant job at Everton. They have some top quality players there, Fellaini, Arteta, Cahill etc. If 2 or more of them are fit it'll be a really hard match. Everton are not the team to be playing when you're having a wobble in form, while Everton themselves have hit their usual late season run of good form and now have a great chance of catching their city rivals.

0-1 Everton. Drool central right here for the rest of the weekend.

Now whilst I hope you are right about the result, I have a horrible feeling that United are going to turn in a big performance (or maybe just a big half) that sees Everton ship three or four goals.

United need 10 points to win the league, and I see Ferguson wanting 3 of those points today.

Having said that, all three of United's losses in the league this season have come in the last 9 games, so a loss or draw to Everton today could be what Chelsea need to feel that they have a chance to catch United.

I would have said Arsenal as well, but they seem to be doing everything in their power to avoid catching United. No doubt once it gets to a point whgere they cannot catch United they will win all their remaining games 4 or 5 nil and talk about what ifs.

That's a very week midfield IMO

I wouldn't be mad about any defense containing Evans either, that looks a relatively weak United team.
    Where's Vidic and Evra?

Are you trying a reverse jinx of a reverse jinx Flah has already put on?!

I feel physically sick looking at that team.

Not happy that Vidic is out....Also that Midfeild is weak... Anderson didn't play well last week,,, If Gibson shows up he can play well.

    C-mon Utd

    Not Gibson? !

il take a 1-0 win... but id say we will concede. Il go 2-1 utd.

Gibson destined to score a screamer.

    2-0 Everton.

Can see Rooney dropping far too deep right back into CM again to compensate for the midfield. Evans to crock up as usual. Not confident at all with that team.

I am twice as worried now than I was before I saw the team. I can't put it any more simply.

I seem to remember people saying the same thing looking at the team before the Arsenal FA Cup game!

    I'm still optimisitic

Well its a chance for Evans, Fabio, Gibson and Anderson to really contribute something to winning this title !

I'm fully behind them for this match.

but won't hesitate to critizise if they put in a shít performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,026 ✭✭✭✭adox

Who else were people expecting in midfield? Carrick is the only other obvious choice.

Evra needs a rest, he's been poor all season so not surprised there.

Evans coming in is a surprise. Don't know why Vidic isn't playing at this stage of the season and even allowing for him being dropped, even mor surprised Smalling isn't in. Maybe Fergie thinks Rio and Smalling are too similar in style and prefers the balance of Evans with Rio?

Very clever. A reverse on the reverse jinx that Essien put on Fla.

    In which case...

    United 3 - 0 Everton.

Your inconsistency will be your downfall. If you're gonna do this you have to follow through from start to finish. Committ to it like.;)

Really worrying midfield for United but at least Everton dont have that much creativity in there midfield aswell. Worried about left side of defence with Evans and Fabio so Nani will want to cover back.
    United to shade it.

Not clever at all lad. If the midfield can't control the game Rooney will drop right back into the middle of the park again. I genuinely don't think we are getting 3 points with that team.
