    Hi all,

I´m an Irish bride-to-be due to marry my Spanish boyfriend in September 2012 in Spain.. I´m thinking of the Costa Brava as his family will be arriving from Barcelona and Madrid and mine will be travelling from Cork.. I´d imagine we´ll have between 100-150 guests. Looking for a coastal venue with good accomodation options and plenty to do for the days before and after the wedding... I want something very special that people will remember, so any suggestions are welcome.. Thanks in advance xx

    Felicidades!

I spent a year in Valencia, and have always said thats where I want to get married.

Beautiful weather, some amazing hotels on the beach, as well as a medium sized city thats easy to get around for guests with lots to do. City of arts and sciences, great bars and restaurants, and none of the "touristy feel" you can get with the Costa del Sol. Loads of beautiful churches too. Would be handy for his relatives coming from Barcelona and Madrid too. Aer Lingus fly May-Oct direct, or Alicante about 2 hrs south. (Did I mention I love Valencia???:D)

Some gorgous towns within an hour of Valencia, Denia, Gandia etc if you dont want the wedding in the city. Best of luck with your wedding plans!

I'm from Dublin and myself and my fiance are dead cert on a spanish wedding but have no idea who to contact to get the ball rolling. I'm conscious of just googling it and wheither are not the results are legitimate companies.
    Any thoughts would be great.

Same here we were looking at ireland and just think it's going to work out too expensive and have a load of unwanted relatives!! We were in a fab little village last year called Mijas Pueblo it's a typical white village!! we both loved it there was a wedding on when we were there!! Just need to figure out where to start organising!! a planner would probably cost a fortune!!!

    First off - congrats!!
Friends of mine got married last year in an amazing place about an hr outside Barcelona.
    Saint Miquel del Fai www.santmiqueldelfai.net

The MOST beautiful, serene, intimate and moving venue for a wedding that I have ever been at (and there's been a few!)
Please have a look at the website and do a bit of research on it yourself, I couldnt recommend it highly enough. They did have a planner ('weddingsbyval' search) but I imagine you can organise it yourselves too. Really worth a look ;0)
