help with a new build please

hey guys. i'm going to be building my next pc soon and i need some help with the build. the pc will be used for gaming and some small software development. budget will be around 700~800 + the monitor. i don't need any peripherals but i will need OS. i was thinking of going the i5 2500k route.

any build + nice monitor suggestions would be cool!

How much do you want to spend? There's cheap 22-23'' TN panels with HD resolution 1920x1080 for <€150. Fine for games although colours might not be as accurate as the slightly more expensive VA panels (bad for games, poor response times) or the much more expensive IPS ones.

nice1 mate. just wondering about the cd drive, it doesn't have windows 7 in the required OS just vista and xp. it would work with win 7 right? i'm guna order early next week. thanks again :pac:

You're welcome. Sometimes they come with rubbish software or drivers. These are probably made with these operating systems in mind.
Makes no difference to the actual use of the drive. You should be able to use windows or linux or whatever you want.
