Netbook Advice/Laptop Repair?

I'm in the middle of my final year college exams and the plastic hinge covering on my Dell 1318 has broken, exposing wires from the screen, and it's looking pretty precarious at the mo! The battery is also on its last legs it appears.
I've already spent nearly 200 updating it after it crashed last summer and bought a new battery for it then as well. It's not under warranty.
So, I'm now looking at getting a netbook to tide me over until I finish my exams/assignments and to take abroad to the States this summer.
I would be looking for something relatively durable (for travelling) but light, with a webcam. Budget of about 320e. Any advice on brands or indeed repair for the Dell? Thanks :)
