I know this is a semi-medical question, but hear me out before erasing it as i have consulted with a doctor also.

I am going through a stressful job transition period. I have suffered anxiety in the past and so my doctor prescribed xanax.

I find it best to help me sleep, so i dont lie awake worrying.

I asked the doctor is it ok to keep taking it for 2-3 months while i go through the transition and he said it would be ok, but it would be better to get off it sooner.

So, from people here who use it for anxiety, is one tablet a day for 2-3 months too much and is there a chance of dependency based on that dosage, from your experience?

OP, I'm sorry but this is still medical advice. The best person to discuss your concerns on medication is your GP, as what works for posters here might not work for you.

    Sorry.
