    Hey all,
I've my bike up for a couple of weeks on adverts & other sites.
Plenty of views but no genuine interest. Do you think people are just playing the waiting game or is it a bit over priced? Any thoughts/opinions?
Bike is Alu/carbon mix with Ultegra, from looking around price is competitive
Not in a huge rush, have my eye on a new bike so would like to get moving
Link here (If this contravenes boards rules mods then apologies remove link as necessary)

I'd say the Bike2Work scheme makes selling a bike worth around 800yoyos trickier than it might otherwise be tbqh, as someone can get a new bike of similar specs for the same price when benefitting from the 52% discount on the first 1k.

Thought about the btw factor, other than Planet X don't think there are too many bikes with Ultegra below the €1800 mark so even with the full btw of €500 off it's a good bit less. Seems to be 105 or similar at the €1300 price bracket.

My impression of adverts.ie is that it tends more so to be noob teritory. FWIW noobs tend to be more impressed with carbon frames and commonly known (to the layman) brand names rather than components. You might already be aware of this but Canyon to a fully Ultegra equipped bike for €1200, 105/Ultegra for 1000 and Merlin do an Alu with 105 for about 800.

No offence but she's no looker. The brand new bikes you can buy for that kind of money might be lower spec but they have a bling showroom factor. In my opinion the blue tires don't go well with all the black, and your chain is filthy as well.

Give the chain, cassette and chainset a good, proper, thorough scrubbing and degreasing. You probably don't want to put money into something you're selling, but imo new (not-black) bar tape would brighten it up.

    Or drop the price.

I agree with fat bloke. Cleaning it so that you could practically eat your dinner off it does wonders for a bike.

Having said that, considering what you can get new for €1,000 to €1,200 these days, it doesn't really leap out as a good buy. If it were my bike, I'd probably be looking for €500-600 for it. But that's just my opinion.

Just a thought, but its possible you could look into selling components.

Agree with the others re, price, presentation and value for money.

Also 57cm is a big frame, second hand large bikes are lemons; very hard to move on as market is small and no one wants them.

Sadly also it's the 'wrong kind' of Litespeed if you know what I mean.

Keep it, its a fine bike otherwise.

i agree too. me, i got an alu/carbon fork etc set up with ultegra and want to move to an all carbon frame with fast wheels. i have come to terms with the fact that i am keeping this bike and will use it to train on and use the new one for events.

Thanks for the feedback, joys of apartment living made the cleanup a bit harder, something for the long weekend.
