Red-faced Garda no longer tall in the saddle
It is understood the Garda bike was stolen several weeks ago but it is not yet known whether it was taken from Galway Garda station or at a location in the city from an unsuspecting Garda out on the beat.
The bike was stripped of its two tyres and handlebars and then ditched in bushes

Anyone know what are carried in those panniers that are sometimes on the bike?

First Aid Equipment and surgical wipes and vent aids. Oh and doughnuts i suppose

Vent Aids are the apparatus the Garda places over your mouth and face with a one way valve. It allows him/her to give you breaths during cpr without vomit/spit/blood coming back into the Garda's mouth.

All Gardai are trained in artificial respiration as an element of CPR.

not too surprised they get stolen, I saw a couple of bike cops arresting some nutter in college green one day and they had dropped the bikes on the road to grab him, so I picked the bikes up off the road for them but sure you could imagine young lads riding off on them.
