    Hi Guys

I Have created an admin template for our sales guys using excel What I want to do is lock a number of the cells or alliteratively create a form so that only a certain number of cells can have information entered into them

Some is alpha some is numeric and some is tick the box also want to create a drop down menu for one or two fields as there is only a certain answer that can be entered (ie sales rep = select a name)

can anyone help me is this easy enough to do

    any help greatly appreciated

    thanks

Google docs.... lets you create a nice form..tick boxes, drop downs.... you can then publish it with a single click... it even gives you the code which you can either paste online or on your intranet... Your guy then just fills in the form online and when he submits he updates your spreadsheet... it's really neat.

here is an example of one I've done http://mtbireland.com/cyclocross/page.php?6

The top half is the form itself... I've also published the results below to show who has signed on.... this is optional of course... great thing is it can be accessed on your mobile phone too and allows mutliple people to update at the same time.

You can also use lists and lock in the data entered to only be availlable in those lists.
Added to that you can lock sheets/workbooks to limit access.

Another suggestion on the google docs are:
    1. MS Access
    2. SharePoint Lists
