Im in the process of looking to buy a car, looking at 1.4-1.6 diesel preferably, but not opposed to petrol. Max spend, €10,000 ish.... Looked at a Peugeot 308 - 2008 diesel and loved it, drove it and loved it, but reading bad reviews about these! I just need a few suggestions as Ive only ever bought privately before so…

I'd recommend a Focus or Toyota Corolla. Can't go wrong with either from 04+. The D4D is really cheap to run too!

I say the focus is your best bet, I own a peugeot and I had a huge problem with the in built computer and sensor system, took several visits to the garage and about 200 to fix. Saying that I do love the car but I think the Ford would be a more reliable option!
