Hope I'm posting this in the right spot, if not mods feel free to move!

Hi, trying to source an exhaust heat shield for my '00 Toyota Celica. Local Toyota dealer are telling me there are only 3 types of heat shield for this model, but none of the heat shields are suitable for my Celica and the heat shield on there already looks completely different - so, is it possible this could be due to the fact that its a Japanese import OR do I have a dodgy Celica?????!

is the car original? or has any work been done to the engine, especiallly like a custom manifold? have seen custom manifolds coming with custom made heatsheilds...

No, the engine has not been modified - my Celica has 4 heat shields, starting from the engine there's one at the bulkhead, the 2nd covers the CAT and the first exhaust box - the 3rd section (which is the one I'm looking for) is riveted to the underside of the petrol tank at the front and back of the petrol tank and then the 4th section covers the back box. Toyota dealer parts book is only showing the first, second and fourth shields.
    does that make sense?

Yeah I know the one you are looking for, it comes tak welded to the tank so cannot be bought separate your only choices are - 1- replace tank. 2- get shield treeless to tank or 3-remove shield and throw it in the bin!!!! Where this shield is it is never needed as near no heat is generated so far back
