I got my wages this month and there was more..

The only thing i can see that changed on the pay slip is Ann Tax Credit went from €3368 in march to €3561 in April.. Is this for the rest of the year ?.. or just an error ?

Have you submitted any claims online recently? Service charges etc?

The standard 3360 or there abouts, yours went up by 175 so either it is a mistake or you have changed something.

I've not changed anything. Would my job have done it for me ?

No but you can ask your payroll guy/gal, why did the tax credits increase for this month, they should only have increased it if they had gotten confirmation from the revenue to do this.

There is no point also in saying nothing and hoping that you won't get caught because they will balance it out at the end of the year and you will have to pay it back in your last pay check.

Let me know how you get on.

If you are unemployed for a year and take up employment in September how do you calculate your tax credits single and paye. Is it 100% for the period Sept - Dec or is it spread out over 12 months and therefore only 33% for the 4 months worked?

    Thanks in advance

100% based on total earnigns for the year, at the year end you will have to request a P60 balancing statement from the revenue and they will refund you anything owed based on the information supplied.
