Classic. He must be the Jason McAteer of Madrid

The celebrations seem a bit OTT for the Copa Del Rey. Would this not be the equivelant of Arsenal getting an open top bus for the League Cup (had they won it)?

The way Arsenal are going they'd get an open top bus to celebrate winning the Bingo.

It's indicative of how small time Real have become recently.

Not cutting the grass for the Clásico.

Their fans going ballistic on Saturday because they drew a game, which they had to win and which effectively lost them the league, at home, to their biggest rivals.

Mourinho's constant whinging about always having men sent off despite employing the same rough shod tactics every time he plays Barca.

Creating that false doping story through one of their unofficial media outlets trying to undermine Barca.

A lot of their fans are happy with the win, but the fans and media in Madrid are very torn about having to resort to anti-football to do it. A big win over their rivals will silence that for a short while though. Mourinho won't last the long haul there though (he's said so himself anyway), because much like Roman at Chelsea, Madrid demand a certain style of football. Capello managed them for 1 season on 2 separate occasions, won La Liga both times, and was sacked subsequently for being too defensive. That said, fair play to him, he seems to have solved the riddle of Barcas passing game. Great tactics.

That said a Real win last night is great for the neutrals. It tees up the 2 CL Clásico's nicely. Can Real keep up that kind of pressure for 2 more games? Have they shown their hand too early? Can Barca adapt?

I suppose that's one good thing about being an Arsenal fan, never have to worry about that happening.

Slightly off-topic. In 1987 or 1988 after Galway won the Snr Hurling title, they went on a tour of the US with the McCarthy Cup and after a night out celebrating in Chicago, the cup could not be found.
One of my friends who has a small construction firm in Chicago, told me that he found the cup 3 days later under a pile of timber in his work van.
He had given some of the players a lift in the van from one pub to another and in their exuberance, they left it in the van. There was a fair size dent in the cup which had to be repaired.

The Sam McGuire was also damaged after celebrations in Tuam. :o
IIRC, it was kicked down High Street.

Ramos is notoriously thick, but he was immense last night and is much more than Paul McShane on steroids.

How awkward would it have been if Casillas had dropped it.

It's indicative of how small time Real have become recently.

Recently? They have not won anything in years... Surely this win against the best team in the world signifies a move from small time to big time?
Not cutting the grass for the Clásico.

Clubs should be allowed have their pitch in any state they want, as long as it adheres to league rules...

Prem clubs moving their barriers forward to stop Rory Delap throws.
Arsenal / Man Utd watering the pitch for quicker passing.
Other clubs moving seats closer to pitch to improve atmosphere.
How is the above any different?
A lot of their fans are happy with the win, but the fans and media in Madrid are very torn about having to resort to anti-football to do it.

How can anyone criticize the use of more aggressive & defensive tactics against Barcelona, when they have worked?

Back on topic; Clearly they care far more about defeating Barcelona than this cup which they chucked off the bus!
Or maybe they just didn't know where to put it, seeing as they haven't won anything in so long!

It'd be like an open top bus ride if you won the FA Cup. Which happens.

Would be the same as winning the FA Cup, regardless, its a trophy, something Real haven't had in 3 or so years. Sure they'll celebrate. Why wouldn't you. Any reason to get smashed.

I deliberately said League Cup because I was always under the impression that the Copa Del Rey wasn't all that highly regarded in Spain. I'm no expert in Spanish football, just the impression I was under
