Are (Time) road pedals OK to carry in cabin baggage?

So I just managed to break one my fairly new Look Keo carbon pedals by making a sharp turn and touching the ground (I was wearing normal shoes and the pedals were backwards).

Now I need to buy to pedals and I really don't want to get another pair of Looks and would like to get Time pedals what I used to ride before but I'd like to be able to bring them with me in cabin baggage every now and then. Time road pedals look quite lethal though so might not be the easiest to get them past security.

Has anyone had experience with this? Just put them in hold luggage is not a solution seeing as Ryanair hold luggage costs 70 euros return nowadays and I could almost buy a new pair for that money:D

P.S. If you've got a working left Look Keo carbon pedal and you'd like to sell it or buy the right one, let me know:D

It could be an issue. I brought SPD's back from NZ in my carry on. About 4 airports didn't care but Heathrow treated me like I was carrying a bomb and took them off me. They said some rubbish about not being allowed carry tools. I tried to explain that they were pedals but no dice.

Clip them on to your shoes and they'll look less lethal. It would also be easier to explain what they are.

You SHOULD be alright, I've done it a number of times. I even got allowed through with CO2 refills once that I'd forgotten were in my bag. Trying to explain their purpose to Spanish customs was a bit of a pantomime though :)

if going through the UK (Heathrow in aprticular) you might have an issue, everywhere else is a bit more relaxed in my experience.

Don't see how they are any more of an issue than a laptop or car keys
