I don't mean that, I mean what's the idea behind it? Is everyone just copying each other?

Theres two lads in my estate with these on their cars. A 99' Corsa and a 00' Polo. I doubt they brought their cars over there and did it. Hardly inspiring in little 1.0L & 1.4's.

Doesn't matter what size the engine is! If you did the ring stick the map on the ass of your car.

If you didn't do the ring and have a ring sticker on your car... Well that is the actions of a virgin that says he shags a girl that everyone likes. The truth will emerge! They will be caught!!!

    (I haven't done the ring and I don't Have a sticker)

About that... Didn't they had a mpg race of new BMW m3 and prius on top gear? It worked out that huge m3 engine made less co and better mpg then prius , just because m3 did not needed to be floored to holy Jesus?

So he will be killing those trees not saving them lol.

I am not standing up for the Prius but nothing on top gear is factual or unbiased, it's entertainment not a documentary. An m3 won't get 69 mpg, my best figure to date or 59.4mpg average. But that said I would rather have an m3.

I have no issue when they are on cars that are remotely capable of going around a track.

I couldn't believe it when I saw one literally covering the whole back window!

Prius is not getting those figures too. Common modern diesel makes less co and better mpg then prius. When you make a prius you make more pollution, then if you wod drive huge v8 for 20 years.

Top gear has alot of bull****, but this thing with prius was pretty solid.

Prius had to be driven to he'll on track, wheres BMW was just cruising behind it and still more then keeping up with prius.

Maybe someone can link that of YouTube? Prius vs BMW top gear. As I cant, I type this fromy mobile phOne :)

I think we are losing to original thread.

I doubt you can know better than I do what mpg I am getting, but Saturday fortnight ago I went Meath to omagh and got 69 mpg average.

I don't think that is a real world test just contrived. Most BMW never see a track and a Prius was not designed for a track and I imagine if I floor mine 17 mpg would be about 17mpg. But can't really do that now can ya.

There's a lot more to emissions than Co2. As far as im concerned taxing/judging cars green credentials on Co2 alone is shortsighted at best and a cynical way to make more money for governments at worst. Diesel cars are much worse for the local environment, petrol is a much cleaner fuel from that point of view. A diesel car that has lower Co2 emssions than a Prius does not make it a greener car. Despite the advancements made in recent years with particulate filters in diesel cars they are still a major contributor to the poor air quality we see in cities these days and are a cause of lung cancer, respiratory diseases and global warming (from the soot). It wont be too long before Co2 alone wont be the sole judge of what is a non-polluting car and a lot of people driving "green" diesel cars will have egg on their faces.

That aside i bet the people commenting on the Prius have never driven one, its actually a decent car to drive from a family saloon point of view and lively too compared to other cars such as the passat and mondeo. I would happily drive the ring in a car like a Yaris/Prius or Micra, youre probably better off in a car like that until you get to know the route anyway!

Well actually since trees breathe CO2 they're probably going to suffocate thanks to all these new hippie cars.

    Ie Trackday

It's not really ,a trackday is an organised event where you pre register.

Anyway, there are organised trackdays there, where you have to pre register and pre pay. It is classed as a toll road during the Touristenfahrten, where you can just turn up and buy a lap.

Back OT, I suppose they would have photo's like this to show you if you asked about their sticker ;)

Nothing personal, but my opinion is that you do not need to display a sticker to show you have done something. Most people who have achieved a personal ambition / run a marathon / kayaked a difficult river / climbed a famous mountain should not feel the need to wear a badge. Sure, you talk about it with your mates, and they know. Or you get a mention in a relevant publication (recognised website, or even an old-fashioned club newsletter). What I mean is that real personal achievements should be just that - personal, not public.

However, sporting a fake badge is defintiely sad...

You say it's nothing personal but then you call me sad? That's quite obviously personal.

You do realise that the purpose of that badge is to poke fun at all the people who have never achieved a few laps of the 'ring yet display badges as if they had? Perhaps your sarcasm detector is down or bumping random threads in the middle of the night is getting to you but it's a bit of fun, nothing more.

I have no problem whatsoever with "ring" stickers on the back of cars.
In fact I have one a frien made for me on my back window, ( small one ) :D

There at least 10 cars around here with them.

I have a ring sticker on the landcruiser, but it did 6 laps of the nordschleife in 09. I find it funny as the guy two doors up has a fake sticker on his slightly modded golf and have seen his buddies slag him over it after seeing the jeep. None of the fake sticker look the same as original.
