How much would you pay for Tiagra over Sora?

I had the same dilema with the Trek 1.2 or the Trek 1.5, I finally picked the cheaper bike because I thought I might not use it much. I eventually upgraded to a carbon bike and have the Trek 1.2 as a standby/winter bike. Either way I think I was correct to go for the cheaper bike.

Yes - the €100 is a pretty good spend

It would be worth the extra 100 in this case.

Are you sure the site is legit ? Indonesia usually = run away screaming. Do your homework before you buy anything from them.

I use Tiagra, can't fault it. I don't like the Sora thumb buttons for downshifting. That and the other upgrades make the extra 100 worth it IMO.

Will any of the upgrades actually be that noticeable out on the road? Who knows.

Yea, they're bang on. It's actually a shop in Singapore, my brother lives beside it. The bike's for him, so he was onto me earlier seeing what I reckoned. I hadn't heard of the frame before but he's not too concerned about the frame itself.

    Thanks though.

And the 300 is better looking.

Yea, that's what I thought myself. I've a Specialized Allez Sport myself with Sora and wouldn't mind (at least) Tiagra eventually. Just wasn't sure if it was worth the extra €100 or not but that seems to be the general concessus(sp?). Thanks.

I wouldn't bother upgrading from Sora to Tiagra on a bike you all ready own, unless the shifters broke and you needed to replace them. But I think in your brother's case it is worth the initial extra outlay.

Yea, that was more thoughts of getting a new bike down the line as opposed to upgrading the groupset. I can but dream...

i use tiagra day to day on my commute bike, it's fine, never had any issues with it. Don't like the sora side-of-hood shifter either.
