Route for slieve Mann from rathdrum

Hi all,

Am planning a route for Sunday and want to incorporate slieve Mann and shay Eliot but from approaching from rathdrum side leading into laragh. Anybody know which route to take out of rathdrum to get there.

On the road from rathdrum to laragh,just before you hit laragh you will see a left-hand turn,sign-posted Glenmalure.Take this,you will find the shey elliot memorial at the top.Drop down the other side you will come to a stop sigh at a four -way junction.Go straight through and you are on the climb to slieve maan.If you go over the top and take the first left-hand turn,follow this road keeping to the left at the y-junction and stay on this road till you come to a four way intersection.Take the left,drop down to a T-junction at Greenan and right will take you straight back to rathdrum.
Its a nice route,enjoy

Cheers but was trying to approach it the other way as in the ww200. I might try it that ways anyway

I have something similar planned for next week but from Laragh i will take the right and cross Shay Elliott and then slieve Mann, just curoius then what is the best way for us to get back to Blessington ?

Cheers that will be the plan, just one other question - we want to head from Rathdangan back to Donard and from the map you are turning off at Talbotstown, is this straight forward or is it signed. Dont want to end up out on the N81 near Baltinglass

the road curves to the right there with others joining it. To follow my route you just go along the road as it curves and don't turn off

Cheers. Do you know which right to take in rathdrum. Or which sign say

Go for Aughrim, and follow the river up towards slieve maan, be doing this myself probably Sunday week.
