    Hi,

Quick question that I cant seem to find an answer too.

Do I need two DVB-T tuners to record one channel while watching another in Saorview?

    If so why?

Pretty sure you do, though they can come from one input (unlike with dvb-s).

If you have a dual dvb-s and single dvb-t card like you're considering, from experience I think a dual dvb-t will be overkill. It's very rare that you'll actually want to watch live tv with a decent HTPC setup (except for stuff like sporting events).

As far as I know at the moment you don't need a dual tuner as all the channels are on the same mux. There is a second mux on the way and then you will need the second tuner. Also it depends on the hardware/software if it will allow you to record one, watch one from same mux.

i have a dual input dvb-t card & only use 1 input on it. second one is not needed for current Irish DTT service as it is all one one MUX
