Anyone done any of these? Have heard great things about mount leinster, but enniscorthy is a long way from limerick (where I am this year) for an 0800 start. See that the limerick tour is on the following weekend but cant see any other details about it.

Any opinions? Mount leinster worth the 5am start?

deffo worth the trip, I did it last year for the first time. savage day out, twice up over Mt Leinster. I've signed up for it now for this year.

Just a note, the start is not until 09:30 (not 8am), so u might get away with a lie-in until at least 6am, especially if you pre-enter online so u don't have to queue up on the day ;)

Haven't been up there yet this year but all the other roads around Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny seem fine. If you can get a small group to head to the mast it would be totally worth it, probably the hardest climb in Ireland.

    Hey lads,

haven't been on boards much as of late or my road bike for that matter, I was up Mt Leinster only two days ago and the roads from all directions are in fairly good nick.

There are one or two poor bits coming from Bunclody up but nothing you can't easily see.

As for the hardest climb in Ireland... Maybe if you don't include Mountain Bikes that is Captain :P

I didn't take man photos on my last spine but there is a nice mega panorama from the coll jist befor the climb up to the mast on my wee blog here.

Would be well worth the trip. Some lovely scenery up around Mt. Leinster!

Also, keep an eye out for the cattle grates on the descent. They could really catch you out on a wet day!
